Garrad Hassan, a San Diego-headquartered provider of products and services for the wind industry, has recently been selected by Chicago-based Airtricity to provide its supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) solution for Airtricity's 209 MW wind farm located in Roscoe, Texas.

According to the companies, the wind farm - using 209 1 MW Mitsubishi MWT-1000A wind turbines - is currently under construction. In addition to providing the SCADA system, Garrad Hassan America will be providing control system network design, installation and commissioning for the site.

This selection represents one of multiple recent major awards for the GH SCADA group, and when complete, the project will add to the over 1,700 MW of wind power currently (or planned to be) monitored and controlled with the GH SCADA solution by the end of 2007, the company adds.
