Suzlon Signs Its Largest Supply Agreement

Suzlon Wind Energy Corp., the U.S.-based subsidiary of Suzlon Energy A/S of Denmark, has signed a contract to deliver 400 MW of wind turbine capacity to PPM Energy, a Portland, Ore.-headquartered wind farm developer.

The contract, which represents the largest Suzlon has signed to date, calls for 300 MW of turbine capacity to be delivered in 2008 and 100 MW of capacity in 2009, the companies say. The agreement includes the supply of 143 S88-2.1 MW turbines in 2008 and 48 in 2009. Suzlon is contracted for operations, maintenance and service of the wind turbines for two years and an option for five years, the companies add.
