NAW Staff, Tuesday 10 April 2007 - 10:59:25
The New Hampshire House of Representatives voted in favor of House Bill (H.B.) 873 in a 253-37 vote to set a renewable portfolio standard.
The bill would require electric utilities in the state to supply 25% of their energy from renewable sources by 2025. Gov. John Lynch, D-N.H., recently sent a letter to the House Science, Technology and Energy Committee urging the organization to support the bill. (See "
New Hampshire Governor Requests Support For State RPS.") H.B.873 is now expected to go before a Senate committee for review before the Senate votes on it.
