Kerry Joins Maine's Office Of Energy Independence And Security

John Kerry has been appointed the director of the Maine Office of Energy Independence and Security.

Kerry brings extensive experience in the public and private sector, and an impressive background in the energy and environmental fields, to the position. Kerry served two terms in the state Senate, where he chaired the Utilities Committee, and served one term in the state House of Representatives. From 1983 to 1986, he was the executive director of the Maine Office of Energy Resources in the Brennan Administration.

 "We have a lot of challenging issues on energy that must be addressed," says Gov. John Baldacci, D-Maine. "From implementing the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative to expanding renewable energy resources and working toward energy independence - Maine needs John's experience and dedication right now."
