Tower Tech Holdings Inc. recently announced that wholly owned subsidiary, Tower Tech Systems Inc. has begun production on an increased order of 34 large wind tower support structures for Gamesa Eolica.
The letter of intent that was executed in May confirmed Gamesa's purchase of 22 structures, model G87-78M, from Tower Tech. Tower Tech has now begun manufacturing those structures plus an additional 12 towers added during negotiations with Gamesa. The four-section wind tower support structures are 78 meters tall.
The towers will be deployed as the first phase of the GSG wind energy farm near Sublette, Ill. The multi-phase, utility-scale wind project, under current development, will place wind turbines on 60 different wind farms around Sublette, West Brooklyn, Mendota and Southern Lee Counties in Illinois. The agreement calls for the additional 12 towers to be deployed at a wind energy farm in Texas.
