Needham, Mass.-based PTC has announced that Gamesa, a manufacturer of wind turbines, has expanded its current implementation of the PTC product development system (PDS) to cover the creation, management and publishing of product-related documentation. With Arbortext, PTC's product information delivery software, Gamesa will now be able to produce high-quality and more effective documentation in less time, according to the company.

With PTC's Arbortext and Windchill, Gamesa has the ability to create different types of documents from one single source of content, using the same pieces of information in different style sheets and publishing them in PDF and other formats.

"We expect PTC's software to greatly enhance efficiency and productivity of our technical publications process," says Gonzalo Coloma, head of product support for Gamesa. "The availability to automate the creation of the different document types and reuse information will let us provide our customers better and more consistent documentation in less time. Customers will also benefit from these improvements as better documentation facilitates usability and maintenance of our products."
