Worcester, Mass.-based World Energy Solutions Inc., an operator of online exchanges for energy and environmental commodities, has announced a call for supply for a June 10 voluntary emissions reductions (VERs) auction.

NativeEnergy, a national carbon offsets and renewable energy credits provider, intends to procure up to 1.5 million VERs via World Energy's online auction platform, the World Green Exchange. Qualified VER suppliers are encouraged to contact World Energy to register as a bidder on the World Green Exchange in order to participate in the auction. Registration is free of charge.

"We're very pleased that NativeEnergy has come back to the World Green Exchange as a satisfied, repeat customer," says Phil Adams, president and chief operating officer of World Energy. “Their selection of World Energy further validates our auction model in this emerging market.”

VERs must be voluntary carbon standard-verified or verifiable. Buyer preference will be given to sellers who are responsible for the verification of the VERs, although buyers will consider some flexibility.
