Suzlon Wind Energy Corp., a Chicago-based subsidiary of Suzlon Energy A/S of Denmark, recently finalized an agreement with John Deere Wind Energy, a debt and equity investor in wind projects, to supply 247 MW in wind turbine capacity.

This particular order consists of 30 units of the S64-1.25 MW turbine and 100 units of the S88-2.1 MW turbine to be delivered next year. Combining previous orders, John Deere will have a Suzlon wind turbine porfolio exceeding 530 MW in capacity.

"We view this latest agreement as a reaffirmation of our belief and investment in the U.S. market and our manufacturing strategy," says Andris Cukurs, Suzlon Wind's chief executive officer. "John Deere's commitment to purchasing these turbines further confirms our long-term strategy to focus on partnerships and production capabilties."
