Siemens Providing Direct-Drive Turbines For German Community Wind Farm

Siemens has won a contract to supply seven of its SWT-3.0-113 direct-drive wind turbines for the 21 MW Holzacker-Knorburg community wind project, located between the north German municipalities of Enge-Sande and Stadum.

The SWT-3.0-113 has a rotor diameter of 113 meters and a hub height of 92.5 meters. Delivery and installation of the turbines is scheduled to commence in early summer, and Siemens will also provide service and maintenance within the framework of a 20-year agreement.
