REpower Signs 106 MW Australian Wind Deal

REpower Systems SE, a subsidiary of the Suzlon Group, has signed an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract with Mitsui & Co. (Australia) Ltd. Under the deal, REpower says it will deliver 52 wind turbines with a total rated output of 106.6 MW for the Bald Hills wind farm in Victoria, Australia.

The REpower MM92 turbines each have a rated capacity of 2.05 MW, hub height of 80 meters and rotor diameter of 92.5 meters. Delivery is expected in the second quarter of next year, and commissioning is scheduled for the second quarter of 2015. The agreement with Mitsui is combined with a service contract for the next 10 years, with a further five-year option.
