Suzlon Group Wins Contract For German Community Wind Project

Suzlon Group subsidiary REpower Systems SE and B├╝rgerwindpark im Kirchspiel Medelby GmbH & Co. KG have signed a contract for more than 27 wind turbines for four wind projects totaling approximately EUR 90 million.

Per the contract, REpower will deliver 13 3.2 M114 turbines, 11 3.2 M114 with 93-meter hub height, two MM92 with 80-meter hub heights and one MM92 with 100-meter hub height. The turbines are scheduled for delivery over the course of 2014. The community wind farm is situated in Northern Schleswig-Holstein near the Danish border. The agreement also includes a 15-year service contract with an option for five additional years.

REpower also updated construction efforts from other projects in the region, including a community wind farm now under construction in Buchen, Germany. A 16 MW wind farm, developed by Wind Energy S&H GmbH, will consist of five REpower 3.2M114 wind turbines with a hub height of 143 meters. When completed, the wind farm will be the biggest community wind farm in Baden-Wuerttemberg, REpower notes.
