EDF Renewable Energy (formerly enXco) has celebrated the development and construction of the Shiloh IV Wind Project with a blade-signing ceremony.

The 102.5 MW wind farm, located in Solano County, Calif., is the largest repowering project in the country, according to EDF Renewable Energy. For the project, approximately 235 Kenetech 100 kW turbines originally installed in 1989 were removed and replaced with 50 2.05 MW REpower turbines.

EDF Renewable Energy developed, built and will own the Shiloh IV Wind Project, and Pacific Gas and Electric Co. (PG&E) will purchase the output under a 25-year power purchase agreement. EDF will provide operations and maintenance services for the life of the project.

The wind farm is expected to begin delivering electricity into the PG&E generation portfolio this December.
