One Energy To Break Ground On Wind Project Expansion

Ohio-based One Energy is set to break ground on a wind turbine installation at a Cooper Farms plant.

The 1.5 MW wind turbine will provide an additional 25% of the Cooper Farms location's electricity needs, making the facility 75% powered by wind. Cooper Farms currently has two 1.5 MW turbines at this location, which came online earlier this year.

When the installation of the first two turbines began, they were able to provide 60% of the plant's power needs. However, two new large pieces of equipment have recently been installed, increasing the location’s overall electricity usage.

With the first two turbines alone, Cooper Farms is currently the largest privately owned generator of net-metered wind energy in Ohio, according to One Energy.
