Vectorply Adds More Multi-Axial Reinforcement Fabrics
NAW Staff, Tuesday 24 July 2007 - 01:00:00
Phenix City, Ala.-headquartered Vectorply Corp. has expanded its line of multi-axial reinforcement fabrics to include ultra-lightweight double-bias, biaxial, quadraxial and unidirectional carbon fabrics.
Vectorply notes that its reinforcement fabrics enable wind turbine blade manufacturers to infuse thicker parts faster. Specifically, heavyweight unidirectionals can reduce lay-up time while delivering mechanical properties, according to the company, and proprietary stitching mechanisms keep fibers aligned - thus increasing compression strength.
