Akin Gump Elects Koopersmith As Chairwoman

Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP says the firm's partners have elected Kim Koopersmith to serve as chairwoman, effective April 1, 2013.
Koopersmith succeeds Bruce McLean, who will step down from the role following a 20-year tenure. He will remain with the firm as senior executive partner.
In addition to her extensive experience as a litigation partner, Koopersmith brings to the position years of experience as a mentor and leader. She currently serves as the firm's U.S. managing partner.
