The U.S. Senate recently confirmed the three pending nominations to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission - Philip Moeller, Marc Spitzer and Jon Wellinghoff.

Spitzer, an attorney and former state senator, was elected to the Arizona Corporation Commission in 2000 and served as chairman from 2003 to 2005. He replaces Nora Brownell, whose term ends next month, and will serve a term expiring in 2011.

Moeller, the executive director of the Washington office for Alliant Energy Corp., previously served as director of federal relations at Calpine Corp., and senior legislative assistant for electricity policy for former Senator Slade Gorton (R-WA).

Wellinghoff is a former staff counsel for the Nevada Public Utilities Commission and most recently has been a partner at Beckley Singleton. Moeller's term will expire in 2010, while Wellinghoff's will expire in 2008.
