Jorge Calvet has stepped down as chairman and CEO of Gamesa, and the company's board of directors has appointed Ignacio Martin as its new executive chairman.

Martin was previously executive vice chairman and CEO of CIE Automotive. He spent most of his professional career at GKN Automotive International, where he held many management positions.

Martin also served as deputy general manager to the chairman of Alcatel Spain and is currently an independent board member at Bankoa-Credit Agricole and Higiestime 21 SL and a member of APD’s board of directors.
