Alden Hathaway II has joined Norcross, Ga.-headquartered renewable energy retailer Sterling Planet as senior vice president of business development. In this role, Hathaway will be responsible for leading the company's industrial and commercial sales efforts, as well as utility partnering and solar development projects.

As director of EcoPower Programs for the Environmental Resources Trust in Washington, D.C., since 1999, Hathaway coordinated services for national accounts, utilities and government agencies at the federal, state and municipal levels.

He also helped launch the Environmental Protection Agency's Green Power Partnership Program, which promotes use of clean energy technologies and rewards companies that use green energy to reduce the environmental impact of business operations.
