Outland Renewable Energy LLC has hired Steve Scott as its chief operating officer (COO).

Prior to joining Outland, he was vice president of business development for Gary, S.D.-based Energy Maintenance Service LLC.

Scott spent 12 years in the business development arena working for both publicly and privately traded entities including Marshall, Minnesota-based Schwan Sales Enterprises and Eden Prairie, Minn.-based C.H. Robinson Inc.

The company also announced that it has hired Deb VanDerostyne as its director of administration. Prior to joining Outland, VanDerostyne was director of administration for Gary, S.D.-based Energy Maintenance Service LLC. She will be working out of Outland's temporary field office located near Gary until a permanent facility is established in the area.

Outland Renewable Energy is a Chaska, Minn.-based renewable energy firm focused on developing, owning and operating commercial renewable energy projects in partnership with landowners, rural communities and municipalities.
