Gov. Heineman Encourages Development Of Wind Power

Gov. David Heineman, R-Neb., recently signed two bills that will help the state invest in wind energy - L.B.367 and L.B.629.

According to the governor's office, L.B.367 exempts materials used for wind energy projects from taxes. Furthermore, L.B.629 (the community-based energy development bill) clears the way for Nebraska's public utilities to purchase electricity generated by privately owned turbines. As a result, it encourages the development of wind projects in the state, Heineman says.
