HDR, an architectural, engineering and consulting firm based in Omaha, Neb., is celebrating its 90th year of helping communities meet their energy needs.

When the company was founded in 1917 as the Henningson Engineering Co., its first assignment was to design a power house for the city of Ogallala, Neb. Today, HDR provides a full range of services to public and private power clients nationwide, including assisting in the development of some the country's largest wind farms, HDR says. During its 90 years of operation, the firm has grown to more than 6,000 professionals in more than 140 locations worldwide.
