AWS Truewind LLC, a wind energy consulting firm based in Albany, N.Y., has launched a joint venture with Barcelona, Spain-headquartered Meteosim SL. The new firm, named Meteosim Truewind SL, will be based in Barcelona and will provide meteorology, mesoscale modeling, engineering and weather forecasting services.

"Meteosim is the ideal partner for AWS Truewind's new initiative in Europe," says Bruce Bailey, AWS Truewind's president. "They bring vital skills in meteorology and atmospheric modeling, and as a successful Spanish firm, they have a keen sense of what the European wind energy market needs."

According to the companies, Meteosim Truewind SL will be led by Joan Aymami Nuestrasenora del Manto, who is also president of Meteosim.
