NV Energy has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for short-term renewable energy resources that can be delivered on or after Jan. 1, 2011, and for a period of one month up to three years.

The utility will consider the following:

- Renewable energy bundled with all of its respective portfolio energy credits;

- An exchange of non-renewable energy from NV Energy for renewable energy; and

- Biogas that can be transported to NV Energy's power plants for electricity production.

NV Energy will accept offers of renewable energy structured as monthly shaping and firming transactions, which will allow renewable energy suppliers greater flexibility in their respective bid proposals.
