NVision Introduces Maxos For Wind Turbine Manufacturing

| Southlake, Texas-based NVision Inc. has introduced Maxos, a multi-axis optical coordinate-measuring machine (CMM), to the North American market. According to the company, Maxos can be used for manufacturing wind turbines. "The Maxos provides a significantly faster way to measure high-value precision components in an automatic production environment," says Steve Kersen, NVision's president. "Our customers in North America now have access to a technology that until recently was only available in Europe and Asia." The keys to the performance advantage are to be found in two places: the optical noncontact probe and the multi-axis operation, NVision says. The optical noncontact probe is a point of white light that allows the collection of individual points at a rate of 70 per second. The multi-axis operation uses the conventional three axes of a CMM with two additional axes on its sensor - along with two optional turntables resulting in up to seven axes in total.
