360JMG, a Washington, D.C.-based integrated communications firm, has hired Peter Lowenthal as group director of its renewable energy and clean technology practice group.

In his new role, Lowenthal will lead 360JMG's initiative to offer leading communications services to companies that manufacture, distribute, install and consult in the expanding renewable energy industry, the company says. Prior to joining the firm, he worked for the U.S. Export Council for Energy Efficiency and the U.S. Export Council for Renewable Energy, promoting the export of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies internationally.

"We are reaching out to businesses that are actively engaged in providing citizens with energy alternatives to fossil fuels and those that create environmentally responsible products and services," says Lowenthal. "In order for any business to be successful in this market, they need first-rate communications support."
