Denmark-headquartered Vestas, a wind turbine manufacturer, has received an order for 39 V80-1.8 MW wind turbines to be delivered in the first quarter of 2008 for the second phase of the Marengo project in Washington.

The order has been placed by PacifiCorp, a Portland, Ore.-based energy provider. The first phase of the Marengo project was purchased by PacifiCorp in October 2006 and is scheduled for commercial operation in August, Vestas says. The second phase of the project will be located on adjacent land, with construction scheduled to begin in the spring of 2008.

Vestas will supply and commission the wind turbines, as well as maintain and service them for four years.
