North American Windpower: MIEH Signs Lease Agreement With The City Of Soda Springs

Soda Springs, Idaho-based Mountain Island Energy Holdings LLC (MIEH), a joint venture between Mountain Island Energy LLC and United Fund Advisors LLC, has executed a lease option agreement with the city of Soda Springs for a potential wind farm.

According to MIEH, the company purchased 423 acres as the possible location of various energy projects, including a wind power project on Rabbit Hill. The company has collected wind data on Rabbit Hill since mid-November 2006, and found that the average wind speeds are Class 3 or better.

"We are pleased to establish this new relationship with the city of Soda Springs," says Mitchell Hart, MIEH's managing director. "We are hopeful the wind resource will prove even more positive over time, and allow us to more fully capture the extent of wind resources in southeast Idaho."
