Ritter To Double State's Renewable Energy Standard

Gov. Bill Ritter, D-Colo., will sign House Bill 1281 (H.B.1281) on Tuesday, March 27, at the National Wind Technology Center in Boulder, Colo.

H.B.1281 doubles Colorado's renewable energy standard - Amendment 37 - that was voted into law in 2004. With the signing of the bill, the state's large energy utilities are now required to supply 20% of their power from renewable energy sources, such as wind, by 2020.
