San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) has launched a request for offers (RFO) for renewable energy resources that will be needed to comply with a state law that requires 20% of the utility's energy portfolio to come from renewables in 2010. SDG&E is seeking energy that comes from wind, solar, goethermal, biomass and any other source that qualifies under the renewable portfolio standard program, the company says.

"SDG&E is fully committed to investing in renewable sources," says Terry Farrelly, the utility's vice president for electric and gas procurement. "Our goal is to meet the state's requirements on, or ahead of, schedule."

According to the company, bids are due by May 30. For more information, visit sdge.com/renewablerfo2007.
