Westfield Valley Fair, a joint venture between the Westfield Group and JPMorgan Fleming Asset Management, has purchased 1.6 million kWh of renewable energy derived from new wind and solar generation sources in California.

The purchase was made through Santa Clara Green Power, a program offered by Silicon Valley Power (SVP) to all of its residential, commercial and industrial customers as a way to support energy generated from wind and solar power resources at an additional cost of $0.015 per kWh. By joining the program, Westfield becomes a member of the Environmental Protection Agency's Green Power Partnership, the companies say.

On behalf of Westfield Valley Fair, SVP will purchase renewable energy credits from newly constructed wind farms and solar photovoltaic projects located within California. A portion of the rate will support new solar facilities in Santa Clara, Calif., such as the Haman Elementary School project.
