Tampa, Fla.-headquartered Seminole Electric Cooperative Inc., a wholesale energy supplier, has issued a request for proposals (RFP) seeking renewable capacity and energy produced in Florida.

According to the company, the RFP will encourage the development of new renewable energy projects in the state. Seminole is seeking proposals from qualified bidders to provide up to 150 MW of renewable energy, beginning as early as Dec. 1, 2007. Proposals must be for at least 1 MW, and may include wind, photovoltaic and biomass resources, the company says.

In addition, Seminole says it is interested in receiving proposals with terms of 10 to 20 years. For more information on the proposals, which are due by April 16, visit seminole-electric.com.
