Horizon Wind Energy has dedicated the start of operations at Blue Canyon V Wind Farm in Oklahoma.

The 99 MW project, which is the third phase of the Blue Canyon Wind Farm, encompasses 7,000 acres near the towns of Apache in Caddo County and Elgin in Comanche County. Blue Canyon V will come from 66 GE 1.5 MW turbines and is Horizon's 19th wind farm to come online.

Blue Canyon V Wind Farm officially went online on Oct. 23.

The Public Service Co. of Oklahoma has agreed to purchase electricity generated from Phase II of the project, entering into a 20-year power purchase agreement.
