Jacques Appointed To The Order Of Canada

Hector Jacques, co-founder of Jacques Whitford, has been appointed to the Order of Canada - the country's highest honor for lifetime achievement. Jacques Whitford is a Dartmouth, Nova Scotia-based firm made up of environmental engineers, scientists and consultants focused on solving environmental issues.

Established in 1967, the Order of Canada recognizes outstanding achievement and service in various fields of human endeavor. It recognizes three different levels of membership, including companion, officer and member. Jacques has been elected as an officer for his outstanding contributions to the field of engineering.

Jacques and Michael Whitford founded Jacques Whitford in 1972 with only a handful of employees - the firm has become one of the largest in the environmental engineering industry. Jacques served as president and chief executive officer from the company's inception until 2003. Today, he continues to provide leadership and guidance in his current role as chairman of the board of directors.
