MG Systems and Welding Inc., a manufacturer of thermal cutting machines used for manufacturing wind towers, has upgraded the EdgeMate and EdgeMaster plasma and oxyfuel cutting machines with its new computer numerical control (CNC) - the Global Control S.

The new Global Control S provides a touch screen interface and screen layout similar to that of Windows and features the remote diagnostic software Virtual Service to allow advanced troubleshooting capability. The design is based on the original MG Global Control, the Global Control Plus, the company adds.

Additional upgrades to the EdgeMate and EdgeMaster include more powerful drives that provide 1.7 kW of motion in the X and Y axis. In addition, the new plasma lifter OL-200s and oxyfuel lifter TL-170 (optional upgrade to the OL200 lifter) offer faster speeds and greater position accuracy than previous models.
