Idaho Power Co., a Boise, Idaho-headquartered electricity provider, has been approved by the Idaho Public Utilities Commission to enter into a sales agreement with Magic Wind Park LLC.

Magic Wind developers plan to install eight 2.5 MW wind turbines eight miles northwest of Buhl, Idaho. Under the agreement, the wind farm will not generate more than 10 MW of wind power per month. In August of 2005, the commission reduced the size of projects that can qualify for a published rate from 10 MW to 100 kW. Because the Magic Wind project was already well on its way toward development, the commission granted the developer's request that the project be exempt from the size limit.

The anticipated completion date for the project is Dec. 31, 2007.
