Connecticut Innovations Reorganizes Its Staff

Rocky Hill, Conn.-based Connecticut Innovations (CI), an organization that promotes a technology-based economy, has made a number of staffing changes and created new positions to better meet the needs of its technology clients and stakeholders.

Emily C. Smith has been named chief of staff and managing director of external relations. Previously managing director of government and corporate relations, Smith will now direct CI communications, marketing and media relations, as well as direct programs and operations related to legislation and regulation.

Charles Moret has been named managing director of business development. In his new role, he will be responsible for developing and expanding all facets of the CI franchise.

The company has also created the following positions for running a more efficient program: vice president of technology and program management, innovation network program director, executive in residence and legislative assistant.
