Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories Inc. of Pullman, Wash., has introduced the SEL-710 Motor Protection Relay, which couples motor protection functionality with user-friendly settings, mounting and communication options.
The SEL-710 calculates the speed from the voltage and current and the electrical model of the motor. It can calculate heat-solving high-inertia problems - and enables repeated starts on most motors. The company adds that the relay's small footprint and mounting options allow retrofit without cutting or drilling. And the front panel gives users the flexibility of custom messages, alarms and push-button actions.
