Vestas, a Denmark-headquartered wind turbine manufacturer, has received an order for 76 units of V82-1.65 MW wind turbines from Portland General Electric, a Portland, Ore.-based electric utility, for the Biglow Canyon Phase I project located in Oregon.

According to Vestas, the order, which will be delivered during 2007, includes a four-year service and maintenance agreement. The Biglow Canyon project was developed by Oakland, Calif.-headquartered Orion Energy LLC, and will be built, owned and operated by Portland General Electric.

"We are pleased to be the supplier to Portland General Electric for this wind power project, and we look forward to a long-term cooperation with this important customer," says Jens Soby, Vestas Americas' president.
