3TIER Inc., a Seattle-based provider of renewable energy forecasting and assessment services for wind, hydro and solar energy projects worldwide, has announced that with the signing of additional contracts earlier this year, it is now providing operational wind energy forecasts for over 3,000 MW of installed wind energy capacity throughout North America.

The company's first project in Canada, the 99 MW St. Leon wind farm in Manitoba, along with projects in Montana, Washington, New York, Wyoming, Oklahoma and Texas, helped the company reach this milestone.

"The rapid growth of 3TIER's forecast business underscores the increasing reliance on wind energy forecasting for successful integration of this energy resource," says Pascal Storck, president of 3TIER North America. Storck adds that 3TIER provides its wind energy forecasting services for a range of reasons, including satisfying a Power Purchase Agreement requirement and dispatching assets.
