Vestas has received an order from WKN Texas LLC, a subsidiary of Enel North America, for a total of 63 MW consisting of 21 units of the V90-3 MW wind turbine.

Vestas will supply, install and commission the wind turbines, as well as provide maintenance and service for a five-year period, the company says. Shipment of the first turbines will begin in the second quarter of 2007. The turbines will be used for a project in the south-central region of the U.S.

"We are very pleased to be awarded this contract for V90 wind turbines from WKN Texas LLC," says Jens Soby, president of Vestas Americas A/S. "This order is manifesting the importance of the Vestas 3 MW program as part of the continued growth of the North American market in the coming years."
