Schunk Graphite Technology LLC of Menomonee Falls, Wis., is the winner of a best innovator award for its work in the areas of products for solar cell production and wind power generation.

Nominated companies were evaluated on the basis of advances made in the sphere of renewable energy or energy efficiency according to the GACCoM criteria.

Schunk's innovations in the areas of high-temperature products for the production of solar cell raw materials and in new materials, which improve the up-time and reduce maintenance on wind turbines were recognized for the award, according to the company.

Schunk Graphite Technology is the North American arm of the global Schunk Group. The company's electrical products are used in electric motors and generators in wind turbines, mining equipment, appliances, power tools, industrial motors, light rail and mass transit vehicles and automobiles.
