Bloomington, Ill.-based Vostermans Tooling and Prototyping BV, a supplier of agricultural and industrial ventilation products, has recently used Huntsman Advanced Materials' RenPaste 4503R/Ren 4503H seamless epoxy modeling paste to produce large wind turbine blade models.

According to Vostermans, the reason that the company chose the product is because of its suitability for producing accurate, 151-foot-long blade models with a high-quality, smooth surface.

"These wind blade models had to meet a range of demanding criteria and be produced to a tight timescale," says Rob Luijten, Vostermans' location manager. He adds that the modeling paste helped meet their deadline because of its fast application on the face layer of large precision models. Huntsman says that the product can cut labor and production time by 20%.
