San Mateo, Calif.-based Edgewood Partners Insurance Center (EPIC), which has a wind and energy division, has hired Russ Gunn as senior vice president.

Gunn has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. He recently joined EPIC from Sullivan Curtis & Monroe Insurance Services. For the last 24 years, Gunn has specialized in metals processing and fabricating, commercial real estate, construction and healthcare accounts.

EPIC is a new California retail property and casualty and benefits insurance brokerage firm formed by John G. Hahn and Dan R. Francis, along with Trident IV, a private equity fund managed by Stone Point Capital. EPIC recently acquired Calco Insurance Brokers and Agents. This acquisition will serve as the initial strategic platform to launch a statewide insurance brokerage.
