FPL Energy LLC, a clean energy provider with natural gas, wind, solar, hydroelectric and nuclear power plants in operation across the country, has announced that it has added more than 445 MW of new wind capacity to its portfolio during the first seven months of 2006.

Through its subsidiaries, FPL operates 47 wind farms throughout the U.S. with a gross capacity of 3,912 MW, the company says. Since July 2005, FPL has added more than 790 MW of new wind. It has facilities totaling more than 310 MW under construction that are expected to reach commercial operation by the end of the year.
