Suzlon Secures Repeat Orders

Suzlon Wind Energy Corp., a subsidiary of Suzlon Energy A/S of Denmark, has signed another 105 MW deal with Irvine, Calif.-headquartered Edison Mission Group (EMG) for 50 units of Suzlon's S88 2.1 MW wind turbines.

According to the companies, delivery of the wind turbines is expected to begin in mid-2007. Upon completion of the order, EMG will hold more than 400 MW of Suzlon wind turbine capacity in the U.S.

"Once again, this repeat order bears testimony of customer confidence and further motivates us to expand our business," says Tulsi R. Tanti, Suzlon Energy's chairman and managing director.
