Montgomery County, Pa., in association with PECO Energy, Pennsylvania's largest utility, and Community Energy, an Iberdrola company, plan to announce the purchase of more than 29 million kWh of wind energy for all county facilities on Sept. 27. According to county officials, the purchase ranks among the top-10 largest green power commitments by a U.S. government entity and marks the first wind-powered county in the country.

PECO Wind, PECO's retail wind energy product, will provide 5% of this wind purchase.
