CG, in consortium with Cofely Fabricom and Iemants, has been awarded a $44 million contract for the construction of an offshore high-voltage substation in the Netherlands from Van Oord Offshore Wind Projects BV.

CG and it consortium partners will design, deliver and install the high-voltage offshore substation for the 129 MW Luchterduinen offshore wind project, located 23 km from the Dutch coast between Noordwijk and Zandvoort.

CG will design, engineer and manufacture the overall electrical system. The delivery will include all electrical engineering work, two step-up power transformers, medium-voltage and high-voltage gas-insulated switchgear, auxiliary/earthing transformers, a medium-voltage reactor, and the SCADA/control and protection system for the substation. The project is expected to be completed by August 2015.
