Westerly Wind LLC, a provider of development capital and expertise to the wind energy industry, has hired Steve Schauer as its new president.

Schauer has over 22 years of energy finance experience, serving most recently as senior vice president of finance and treasurer of First Wind Holdings. Throughout his career, Schauer has raised over $7 billion of capital for wind energy projects. Prior to joining First Wind, he served as executive director of solar development and as assistant treasurer for NextEra Energy.

Before serving in that role, Schauer was director of origination for BTM Capital’s Energy & Shipping group and also worked for 10 years as a senior relationship manager for Bank of America’s Energy & Utilities division.
