Boralex Inc., Gaz Metro Ltd. and Valener Inc. have announced that the Quebec Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment, Wildlife and Parks has issued the environmental authorization for Seigneurie de Beaupre - Phase II, a 68 MW wind project planned for the province's Cote-de-Beaupre region.

With the environmental-approval stage completed, the developers can apply for construction permits and begin to arrange financing.

The Seigneurie de Beaupre wind farms are divided into two phases. The first 272 MW phase will start up by late this year, and the second 68 MW phase will start construction as soon as possible, now that the authorization has been received by the ministry. The projects are located on Seminaire de Quebec-owned land 15 km north of St-Tite-des-caps and 60 km northeast of Quebec City.
