EDF EN Canada, a subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles, has received final approval from the Quebec government to develop the 350 MW Riviere du Moulin wind farm, which is planned for a site located 200 km north of Quebec City in the province's Charlevoix and Saguenay territories.

According to company spokesperson Daniel Giguere, the Quebec government approved the final recommendations of the environmental minister, who received a "positive report" from BAPE, Quebec's environmental public hearing board. Site preparations, such as tree clearing, are expected to begin this winter, he notes.
